Offering a safe space to make sense of your story
About Me
Hello! My name is Katrina Johnson. I am an experienced counsellor helping people 13 + to have the confidence to live life fully and to love who you are. I can help you to process and understand what things mean to you, supporting your mental health and wellbeing, giving you a better sense of self.

‘Let go of who you think you’re supposed to be; embrace who you are’

What's your story?
We are all made of stories, some of which are untold, and can bring up feelings of shame. Whether it’s around loss, trauma, relationships or something else, counselling can help increase self esteem and confidence, and process the unspoken things that are weighing you down. I will ensure I hold a warm and non judgemental space to support you to become more self compassionate, and to realise what happened isn’t your fault.

Are you not feeling good enough?
Are you comparing yourself to others?
Do you ever feel uncomfortable in your own skin?
Feeling anxious?
Are you worrying what others think and trying to please them?
I can help.
How can counselling help your young person?
There can be lots of pressures and issues around for young people with problems at schools, relationships, and just not feeling themselves. Sometimes it can be difficult to share with family and friends. Counselling can give them a space to feel validated and acknowledged, and to explore their thoughts and feelings with someone who is separate from home and school.

Say hello to the real you! Helping to accept all of you
There are many conditions, beliefs and opinions put on us that can impact our confidence, and stop us living fully as our true self. You might be thinking of counselling if you are trying to fit in with other’s needs to be liked or feel a sense of belonging. Counselling can help you to show up without fear, bringing your youness back and trust that you are enough.

Time for you to listen to your needs
Counselling is the ultimate self-care. Putting yourself first is not selfish, but an act of love to take care of you. Setting a self-care boundary to talk about you and your significant others, can make such a difference to the way you think and feel. It can rebuild your energies and can improve relationships. Counselling can help carve out time for you to reduce stress and help to value you. You deserve it, you are enough.
Loss and change as your children grow up

Self care after miscarriage and baby loss
I am glad to be writing a blog again after giving myself permission to have a break, and prioritising self-care after a busy time. Listening to our body and needs, is so important to help us de-stress and stay well. This blog will look more specifically at self-care...
