Miscarriage is the loss of a pregnancy before 24 weeks.  Experiencing a miscarriage can be unbearable where the grief can last a lifetime.  It can bring up a roller coaster of emotions like numbness, disbelief, guilt, sadness, loneliness, emptiness, depression and PTSD. Often women choose not to share when they are early pregnant, which can be isolating, and means they may not reach out for support if they experience a loss.  This hidden and silent grief might keep feelings of shame and blame stuck, despite how common miscarriage is and that the cause is not usually known. Counselling may help to work through your guilt and support you to feel like you again, connecting to others.  Please contact me if you need support, and sign up to my monthly blog on pregnancy loss which might help you feel less lonely and answer some of your questions.
